How to find and replace text

- Type what to find and what to replace it with. The match count updates as you type.
- Replace. Use Replace to change one match at a time, or Replace all to change them all. Then copy or download the result.
The matching options explained
- Case sensitive treats capital and small letters as different, so Cat will not match cat. Leave it off to match regardless of case.
- Whole word only matches complete words, so searching for art will not touch start or party.
- Replace changes the current highlighted match, then jumps to the next one, so you stay in control of each change.
- Replace all changes every match at once and tells you how many it swapped.

Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Every search and replacement runs in your browser with plain JavaScript. Your text is never uploaded or stored on a server, which keeps it completely private.
What does whole-word matching do?
It only matches a word when it stands on its own, not when it sits inside a longer word. With whole word turned on, searching for art matches the word art but leaves start and smart untouched.
Can I replace just one match instead of all of them?
Yes. Use the up and down arrows to move between matches, then press Replace to change only the highlighted one. It moves to the next match automatically, so you can walk through them at your own pace. Replace all changes every match in one go.
Does it work with phrases and multiple words?
Yes. You can search for a single word or a longer phrase, including spaces and punctuation. Paste as much text as you like and it all stays in your browser.
