How to resize an image

What is aspect ratio?
Aspect ratio is the relationship between an image's width and its height. Keeping it locked means the image keeps its original proportions, so it scales smoothly without looking squashed or stretched. Unlock it only if you specifically need an exact width and height that don't match the original shape.

Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The image is resized entirely in your browser on your own device. It never leaves your computer, which keeps it completely private.
What does "lock aspect ratio" do?
When it's on, changing the width updates the height automatically (and vice versa) so your image keeps its original proportions and doesn't look stretched. Turn it off to set the width and height independently.
Can I make an image larger?
Yes, you can enter dimensions bigger than the original. Keep in mind that enlarging an image can make it look softer or blurry, because the browser has to invent extra detail that wasn't in the original.
Does resizing change the file format?
